Accessibility Statement
Our approach to making this website usable, and how to tell us when it is not.
1. Our aim
Lavery Leads wants its website and enquiry process to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use assistive technology or need a different way to communicate.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA and to make reasonable adjustments where a disabled person encounters a barrier to our service.
Our design approach includes:
- Clear heading structure
- Readable text and colour contrast
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
- Visible keyboard focus
- Form labels, instructions and error messages
- Text alternatives for meaningful images
- Responsive layouts that support zoom and text resizing
- Plain language where possible
- Reduced or controllable motion
- Links that make sense in context
2. Current compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 Level AA. "Partially" is used because the testing described below, while thorough, did not include testing with assistive-technology users or an independent specialist audit — not because a specific failure is known.
What was tested, and how
Testing was carried out on 1 August 2026 against the production build, by the developer, in a Chromium-based browser served over a local Apache configuration matching the live host. The methods and their actual coverage were:
- Automated testing with axe-core 4.12.1 against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rule sets, run in the browser over all 21 generated routes — every page, the three contractor demo concepts and the 404 page — in BOTH the dark and light themes (42 scans). Two heading-order issues were found and fixed; the final run reported no violations.
- HTML structural validation of every generated document with html-validate 11.6 (structural rule set). No errors remain.
- A layout probe of every route at 320 pixels wide, measuring real horizontal overflow. One genuine overflow was found in the site header — previously masked by a page-level overflow rule that has been removed — and fixed.
- Colour-contrast checking of text and interface colours across earlier passes of this build, including fixes recorded at the time: the primary orange button previously used white text at 3.06:1 and now uses navy at 4.86:1; the small section-number labels previously failed on dark backgrounds and now use an accessible token.
- Manual keyboard-only testing of navigation, the mobile menu, the privacy-choices dialog, the enquiry forms and the demo dialogs (tab order, visible focus, focus trapping, Escape to close, focus return) was performed against the 31 July 2026 build. It was not re-run in full after the most recent changes; those changes did not alter the dialog or focus-management code.
- Testing with the operating-system "reduce motion" setting enabled was performed against the 31 July 2026 build, confirming non-essential movement stops.
What was not tested
- Testing with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS by people who use them daily.
- An independent accessibility audit by a specialist third party.
- Testing with speech-input software, switch access or screen magnification software.
- Browser zoom at 200% and 400% was not re-verified on the 1 August build (the 320-pixel layout probe approximates 400% reflow but is not the same check).
Automated tools catch only a portion of accessibility problems. Passing them is not the same as being usable, and this statement does not claim otherwise.
3. Known limitations
We are not currently aware of a specific accessibility barrier on this website. That is not the same as saying there are none: the testing described above has limits, and problems that only appear with particular assistive technology or particular combinations of settings may not have been found.
The areas most likely to need further work, and which are next on our list, are:
- Verification with real screen-reader users, particularly on the detailed quote form and the package comparison table.
- The package comparison table scrolls sideways within its own container on narrow screens. This is a deliberate choice so the page itself never scrolls sideways, but it may not suit everyone; the same information is repeated in the individual package cards above it.
If you hit a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us — see the next section. We will respond and, where we can, fix it.
4. Third-party services
Some journeys may use third-party services, such as payment checkout, maps, video, social media, WhatsApp or booking tools. We do not control every aspect of those platforms, but we will consider accessible alternatives where reasonably possible.
5. Requesting information in another format
If you need website information in another format, such as:
- Large print
- Plain text
- An accessible electronic document
- A telephone explanation
- Another reasonable format
Contact us and tell us the page or information needed, preferred format and best way to reply.
We aim to acknowledge the request within two working days and provide the information or a clear timescale within ten working days.
6. Reporting an accessibility problem
You can report a barrier:
- Through the complaint form
- By email to joe@laveryleads.co.uk
- By telephone on +44 7375 033886
It helps if you include:
- The page address
- What you were trying to do
- What went wrong
- The device, browser or assistive technology used, if you are comfortable sharing it
- The adjustment or alternative that would help
We will investigate and respond under our Complaints Procedure.
7. Ongoing improvement
We review accessibility when:
- Adding or redesigning a material feature
- Changing forms, navigation or checkout
- Adding video, documents or third-party embeds
- Receiving accessibility feedback
- Conducting periodic site reviews
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time statement.
